GRTgaz is strongly committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and is promoting the development of renewable and low-carbon gases, including hydrogen, and their exploitation through the gas networks, as a replacement for natural gas.
To accelerate the energy transition, two strategic areas have been developed by GRTgaz: adaptation of its industrial resources to maximise the supply of renewable gases, and support for the development of renewable gas production activities.
About the first point, in 2023, our annual production capacity of renewable gases connected to the network was 11.790 TWh per year (compared with 9,034 TWh per year in 2022).
