West Grid Synergy publishes the first results of its experiments and studies
West Grid Synergy is Europe’s leading demonstrator of smart networks for gas. It has rapidly positioned itself as an ambitious project seeking to explore the synergy between the gas system and its ecosystem to support the energy transition in the territories.
Learn about the initial report of the studies carried out and the solutions implemented as part of the West Grid Synergy demonstrator.
West Grid Synergy’s two main aims:
- Implementing a large-scale demonstrator to identify the decarbonised gas system of tomorrow, via:
- increasing the momentum of methanisation projects and developing the share of renewable gas in consumption;
- optimising the management and operation of the natural gas networks using digital technologies and available flexibility levers;
- developing uses that are ecologically and economically efficient: converting diesel vehicles into Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV), and converting new manufacturers.... which may in turn recover their waste and contribute to supporting new virtuous circles. - Analysing stakeholders’ expectations and perceptions to support the paradigm shift required for the territories’ energy transition.
