Regional delegations: working as closely as possible with decision makers and local players

Listening to the regions

For several years, GRTgaz has been working towards improved cooperation with regional authorities, energy unions, industrial companies, the agricultural sector, and research and training organisations. Four regional delegations work as closely as possible with local players to bring together different skills that meet the expectations and demands of regional decision makers, in particular for questions linked to the energy transition and what these mean for job creation and the sectors. The goal is to educate people about the potential of gas infrastructures, to promote renewable gases, and to develop new gas uses for mobility and industry, as well as innovative solutions to meet the energy challenges faced by different local ecosystems. The delegations’ task is to identify, cultivate and coordinate key relationships that support the Energy Transition.

"Elected officials and regional managers should be proactive in asking questions of their GRTgaz regional delegation. The delegations’ task is to provide support for energy planning and to help them reap the benefits of renewable gas in a renewed regional energy system that seeks to optimise the development of all renewable energies."

Intelligent networks supporting the territories

GRTgaz assists the regions with four key challenges:

  • maximising the insertion of renewable energy at the lowest cost,
  • improving network efficiency,
  • pairing energy networks,
  • providing stakeholders with information so that they can operate more efficiently.
"GRTgaz supports the regions with four major challenges: Maximising the injection of renewable energies as cheaply as possible; Making the networks more efficient; Connecting energy networks; Providing regional stakeholders with information that allows them to act more efficiently."
