Benoit Pouzieux has been appointed Director of Operations at GRTgaz
GRTgaz, France’s primary gas transmission system operator, which is committed to the energy transition, has just appointed Benoit Pouzieux to the position of Director of Operations. This appointment has been approved by the Energy Regulatory Commission, in compliance with the rules applicable to the company in terms of independence (Energy code). Benoît Pouzieux joins GRTgaz's Board of Directors. He previously served as Deputy Director of the Client and Network Optimisation Department.
Benoît Pouzieux began his career in 1995 with the Gaz de France Transport division (which became GRTgaz in 2005) as Project manager with the Ile-de-France Equipment Department. In 1997, he became Operations manager for the North Ile-de-France region.
In 2000, he joined Gaz de France’s Trading Department as a Business Manager. Two years later, Benoit Pouzieux was appointed IT system project owner, tasked with overseeing the restructuring of the business dispatching department’s IT system ((logistics management of European gas supplies).
In 2003, Benoit Pouzieux returned to Gaz de France's Transport division, this time as a Senior Business Manager with the Transport Department.
In 2007, he took over management of GRTgaz's Client IT System Department.
In 2010, he was appointed head of the company's Key Accounts Division.
In 2014, Benoit Pouzieux became Deputy Director of the Engineering Division, in charge of the Division's financial performance and transformation project.
In 2018, he was appointed Director of the Gas System Department, responsible for managing and balancing gas flows across the transmission network (24h/24h dispatch), scheduling work and integrating renewable gas injections.
Since 2023, Benoit Pouzieux has served as Deputy Director of the Client and Network Optimisation Department, covering sales & marketing, relations with clients, consumers, producers and dispatchers, and efforts to manage and optimise GRTgaz's infrastructure.
Benoit Pouzieux, 53, graduated from the École Centrale de Paris (CentraleSupélec) in 1993. In 1995, he was awarded a Master’s degree in gas engineering by Mines ParisTech.
