Storage Compensation & Interruptibility
Pursuant to the Order of 17 December 2019 on the interruptibility of natural gas consumption, GRTgaz has published the Secondary interruptibility contract and the Procedure for obtaining the prior and necessary approval for the signature of the said contract.
In the event of a serious threat to the natural gas transmission system, and at GRTgaz's request, the signatory customers undertake to reduce their consumption within 24 hours and, in return, benefit from a reduction in their modulation base subject to storage compensation, which apply to all consumer customers connected to the grtgaz network since 1 April 2021.
33 secondary interruptibility contracts were signed with effect from 1 April 2023. They cover a total volume of secondary interruptible capacity of 17.2 GWh/d.
