Who will be the early movers in the anaerobic digestion sector if not the farmers?
Alain Caillaud, a farmer from Combrand (79), had wanted to set up his own anaerobic digestion unit since 2010. He believed that farmers had a role to play in the energy transition. This was the spark that gave rise to the Gazteam Energy project, which currently injects 7,680 m3 of biomethane per day into the GRTgaz network (i.e. the energy consumption of 3,500 citizens).
