In the framework of the New Energy Systems Strategic Committee's work, GRTgaz is conducting a Call for Statements of Interest on Hydrothermal Gasification for injection of a compliant gas into the network. All project leaders, at the preliminary study stage or in more advanced studies, are invited to participate.

Objective of the AMI

The objective of the AMI is to identify Hydrothermal Gasification projects in order to demonstrate the interests of project developers from a variety of sectors (industrial, urban and agricultural), and to consolidate and share a vision of the sector with public authorities and stakeholders.

This approach falls, in particular, within the scope of the State's implementation of experimentation contracts for biogas production facilities that use innovative technologies, introduced by Article 33 of the Law on Energy and Climate (LEC) of 8 November 2019. Article 98 of the French Renewable Energy Acceleration Act (APER), passed in March 2023, rounds out this framework by including low-carbon gas production facilities using innovative technologies.

AMI GH is primarily aimed at project leaders wishing to recycle waste of biomass origin, mixed or not with packaging or pollutants, which may also contain a portion of waste of fossil origin.
For manufacturers who still have the majority of waste of fossil origin, Hydrothermal Gasification technology could offer them the possibility of achieving their energy transition, without technological change, by first still mainly recovering waste of fossil origin which will be replaced at the future with increasingly biosourced waste.

How can you take part?

The period for submitting applications under the AMI GH is open from September 2 at 2 p.m. to October 31, 2024 at 2 p.m. Project leaders wishing to submit a file in this context must register in advance using the following form no later than August 30, 2024 at 2 p.m., in order to confirm their intention to respond.

>>> ACCESS TO THE APPLICATION FORM OF THE AMI GH
(reserved for project leaders who wish
to submit one or more files*)

From the confirmation by GRTgaz of the registration of a project leader aiming to submit an application file, more in-depth discussions may take place to obtain details or support the project leaders in preparing their response.

Presentation of the AMI

As part of the AMI GH, two webinars will be organised:

  • Tuesday 9 July 2024 at 2 p.m.: a first webinar aimed at all stakeholders to present the content and progress of the AMI GH. An invitation will be sent in advance to the entities concerned for registration.
  • Monday 2 September at 2 p.m. : a second webinar aimed only at project leaders who aim to submit one or more files within the framework of the AMI and who have confirmed their intentions to respond via the AMI GH form. It will be organized at the opening of the submission period recalling the content of the AMI.
